If you were able to tap into the wisdom of all time and know where to be at the right time, at the right place, to do the right thing, and to be successful, would you like to know how?

The answer lies in this passage of Scripture.

Jesus called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
John 21:5,6

Step 1: Be a friend of Jesus

It is Jesus’ friends that He called out to. Jesus wants to be a friend of all… but not all accept Him as friend. Have you accepted Jesus… it does require that you turn away from doing things your way and to follow His way. As you can see the fishermen weren’t catching any fish. Jesus gave them his way. The fishermen typically threw their nets to the left side of the boat…Jesus asked them to throw them to the right side…a little subtle difference. The fishermen believed in Jesus and the result was an unbelievable catch. Will you accept the Words of Jesus in your life? Here’s How.

2. Trust in Jesus and do as He asks you, without hesitation

We don’t see the fishermen argue with Jesus. They were fishermen. They know how to fish. But they responded to Jesus’ call to throw their nets to the right side of the boat. They did as He asked…without hesitation. The result speaks for itself.

3. Be prepared to receive

What they recieved was far more than they could hope for:

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…
Ephesians 3:20

Their nets could not even be hauled in as the catch was overwhelming. Wouldn’t you love ‘your catch’ to be overwhelmingly humongous too?! Well, you had better put in the work, in preparation, for the catch. These fishermen were diligent. To hold the fish meant they had good nets, mended nets, no holes. They were prepared to receive.

Now the danger here is thinking that this is a formula for success or a prosperity doctrine.

BONUS Step 4: Check your Motives

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 4:3

Why did Jesus choose that time, that place and that miracle? Answer: It was His way of capturing the disciples attention to encourage them, reinforce their belief in Him and reinstate Peter with a mandate He gives us all – fed My lambs, take care of My sheep and feed My sheep.

Simply, He gives us success to fulfill His purpose.

As we fulfill His purpose we will see Jesus pour out in unbelievable abundance; but it may not come in the form of fame and fortune. But, no matter how it comes, there will come a clear sense of purpose and fulfillment like you have never known before – now that is unbelievable success!
