Political Leaders hold power like a thin thread over a flame. No matter how well the thread is expertly maneuvered, at any moment it’s existence can vaporise in a flash.
The flame can be the will of the people, factions within their own system, loss of personal integrity, assassins, sickness or even death itself. How frail is the thread over flame.
It is the unseen Hand of God wrapped around the thread that places it, guards it, or withdraws from it.
“‘The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.’
Daniel 4:17
If a man or woman is given such a privilege to serve the people, they best know who set them in such a place. For the Lord can give, and He can take away.
And as for us, whom they serve; may we pray, support, encourage and not speak ill of those who have been set over us. May we honour them, for they precariously dance above the flame.
