Dreams, desires, fantasies. How often do we wonder about whether to do this or that?

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:3

What an encouragement. However, as Christians we can fall into error by telling God what you want and then ask Him to bless it.

We must simply commit our plans to Him because:

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

Ultimately, God desires the very best for us. By committing our plans to Him, we trust that He will ensure only the best for us. He will determine our steps. We walk in faith. If we don’t walk, how can God direct our steps?

Sometimes things don’t workout as we plan…but that’s okay. Retrospect is a wonderful thing. I look back at times when I was angry at God for certain things happening and realise, now, that if it had not have happened that way, I may not have been where I am today. And today is good.

When we think our plans are the only way we open ourselves up to pride.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
Proverbs 16:25

Pride is most deceptive…it slips in very quietly.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

However, committing our plans to God, trusting Him to order our steps, brings about those moments people describe as ‘coincidence, ‘Lady Luck’, ‘Blessing’, ‘good fortune’, ‘right-place-right-time’.

The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
Proverbs 16:33

Luck, nah. We simply position ourselves and trust in God.

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:3

It’s time. Position yourself. Let’s roll….
