Don’t you just love having a day off – a day of ‘rest’. Stay at home. It’s quiet and a great time to jump on the computer, Facebook a bit, read the Bible and blog.

All was going well, until the power failed!

Not only did I lose what I was typing, but the the heating had stopped… no fan to pump it through the house.

Checked the fuses. All is well. Call the Electricity supplier – my phones are all wireless and the base station is powered by … yep, electricity! I turned to my Mobile phone… 3 hours to restoration.

So I went to get a coffee… electric kettle!

I know, I’ll boil water on the gas stove – electric starter!

Might as well go out. Off to the shower. Cold water! The solar/gas hot water system requires electricity to ‘switch’ between gas and solar or just cold water flows through the bypass.

As I stood there, with the rain pouring outside and me inside, cold and in the dark, it occurred to me that even though I can’t see electricity, it still exists. I know this more so when it is absent!

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Romans 1:20

How so for the people of this world. Each intuitively know God exists and more so when He is absent in their lives.

Just as I sought out a solution to restore the electricity in my home (check the fuses, ring the power company, etc.) so people look to restore their connection with God.

Ahh… it’s good to be re-connected.
