Waiting. Waiting. Pacing the floor outside the room where your wife is in the last stages of delivering your first born. You can hear the cries of pain and the flurry of activity intensifies. Complications had set in and you were ushered out of the room. Waiting. Waiting.

Footsteps. A nurse appears… but she scurries off to somewhere else. Waiting. Waiting.

More footsteps. The mid-wife appears. The wait is over.

You search intensely upon her face to grasp an indication of the news she is about to deliver. A smile…yes! “Congratulations! You have a healthy baby girl”.

…As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 10:15f

There is not too many things in life that rank right up there with my Wedding Day and the birth of my two children. The delight of becoming a husband and a father is in the top 3 of my greatest highlights.

Only one other time has been greater than all – the moment I too discovered:

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

My number one delight is the day I became a Christian – it was the day I turned towards God and discovered what it was to have an intimate relationship with Him. I was reconciled with God, accepted Jesus as Lord, and my future in Heaven, for all Eternity, was assured.

…for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13

We all are in the Waiting Room of Life. What news comes from beyond the door of life? No more waiting for me…I have heard the Good News … How about you?
