I am amazed at the number of volunteers who serve diligently at church. With those who are passionately serving in an area of ministry that they are dedicated to creates a growth environment for God’s Kingdom to expand.

As a leader it is good for us to continually search out individuals who “are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom” and ask them to “Step up” and serve in a particular role.

Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented them to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly… Acts 6:5-7.

As each serve in their role within the Body of Christ, the number of disciples will increase.

As each person “steps up” it leaves room for another to “step up” to the level just left.

So if you are asked to “Step Up”, be bold and do so…even when you don’t think you can do it! Why because you are, “full of faith and of the Holy Spirit” and you don’t have to do it alone.

Prayer: Lord help me to “step up”. In Jesus Name I ask it. Amen.
