The Mark of Yehovah

Mark On ForeheadLet us do a simple Bible study.

First, go to a concordance and look up ‘mark of’. You can use Crosswalk.com.

And I first notice in:

Job 10:14 MKJV
(14)  If I sin, then You mark me, and You will not acquit me from my iniquity.

So, here Job is saying we are marked by Yehovah if we sin.

We read in:

Psalms 37:37 NKJV
(37) Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.

Here we see the blameless and upright man is also marked.

Next in:

Ezekiel 9:4 MKJV
(4) And Jehovah said to him, Go through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning because of all the abominations that are done in her midst.

Again a mark on the forehead, by Yehovah, on all who morn over the evil being done.

We now have the following 6 verses in Revelation concerning the mark and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation 14:11 MKJV
And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. And they have no rest day or night, those who worship the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.

Revelation 15:2 MKJV
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire. And those who had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

Revelation 16:2 MKJV
And the first went and poured out his vial on the earth. And a bad and grievous sore fell on the men who had the Mark of the Beast, and on those who worshiped his image.

Revelation 19:20 MKJV
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet doing signs before it, (by which he deceived those who had received the Mark of the Beast), and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:4 MKJV
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor his image, nor had received his mark on their foreheads, nor in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Next, we are going to look up the word “signs”. There were 83 verses given, so I looked for signs that related to hands and foreheads.

We read in:

Exodus 13:1-10 MKJV
(1) And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,  (2)  Sanctify all the first-born to Me, whatever opens the womb among the sons of Israel, of man and of beast. It is Mine.  (3)  And Moses said to the people, Remember this day in which you came out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. For Jehovah brought you out from this place by the strength of His hand. There shall be no leaven eaten.  (4)  You are going out this day in the month Abib.  (5)  And it shall be when Jehovah shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.  (6)  You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Jehovah.  (7)  Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you, nor shall there be leaven seen with you in all your borders.  (8)  And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, This is because of what Jehovah did for me when I came out from Egypt.  (9)  And it shall be a sign to you upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that Jehovah’s Law may be in your mouth. For the Lord has brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.  (10)  You shall therefore keep this law in its season from year to year.

Here we have a sign that would be on our hand and a memorial in our forehead (between our eyes). What is that sign? It was the keeping of Passover in Exodus, chapter 12 & 13. It is the keeping of the days of Unleavened Bread. A sign that we are to keep from year to year.

Exodus 31:12-18 MKJVSeal-Sabbath(12) And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,  (13)  Speak also to the sons of Israel, saying, Truly you shall keep My sabbaths. For it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I am Jehovah who sanctifies you.  (14)  You shall keep the Sabbath therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone that defiles it shall surely be put to death. For whoever does any work in it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.  (15)  Six days may work be done, but on the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to Jehovah. Whoever does any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.  (16)  Therefore the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant.  (17)  It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever. For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.  (18)  And He gave to Moses, when He had made an end of speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.

Deuteronomy 6:1-9 MKJV
(1) And these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God commanded to teach you so that you might do them in the land where you go, to possess it,  (2)  that you might fear Jehovah your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life, and so that your days may be prolonged.  (3)  Then hear, O, Israel, and be careful to do it, so that it may be well with you, and that you may greatly multiply, as Jehovah, the God of our fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.  (4)  Hear, O, Israel. Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.  (5)  And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  (6)  And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart.  (7)  And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.  (8)  And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  (9)  And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:18-25 MKJV
(18) And you shall do the right and good in the sight of Jehovah, so that it may be well with you, and so that you may go in and possess the good land which Jehovah swore to your fathers,  (19)  to cast out all your enemies from before you, as Jehovah has spoken.  (20)  When your son asks you in time to come, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah our God has commanded you?  (21)  Then you shall say to your son, We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.  (22)  And Jehovah gave signs and wonders, great and evil signs, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his household, before our eyes.  (23)  And He brought us out from there so that He might bring us in to give us the land which He swore to our fathers.  (24)  And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for our good always, so that He might preserve us alive, as it is today.  (25)  And if we are careful to do all this commandment before Jehovah our God, as He has commanded us, it shall be our righteousness.

Deuteronomy 11:1 MKJV
Therefore you shall love Jehovah your God, and keep His charge and His statutes and His judgments and His commandments always.

Deuteronomy 11:18-25 MKJV
(18) Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your hearts and in your souls, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, so that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.  (19)  And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.  (20)  And you shall write them upon the door posts of your house, and upon your gates,  (21)  so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied in the land which Jehovah swore to give to your fathers, like the days of the heavens upon the earth.  (22)  For if you will carefully keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him,  (23)  then Jehovah will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall possess greater and mightier nations than you.  (24)  Every place on which the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours, from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the furthest sea shall your border be.  (25)  There shall no man stand before you, for Jehovah your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon the face of all the land that you shall tread upon, as He has said to you.

Ezekiel 20:10-26 MKJV
(10) And I caused them to go out from the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.  (11)  And I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.  (12)  And also I gave them My sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah who sets them apart.  (13)  But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does, he shall even live in them. And they greatly profaned My sabbaths. And I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness to destroy them.  (14)  But I worked for My name’s sake, so that it should not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I brought them out.  (15)  And also I lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey; it is the glory of all lands;  (16)  because they despised My judgments and walked not in My sabbaths; and they profaned My sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.  (17)  But My eye spared them from destroying them, nor did I make an end of them in the wilderness.  (18)  But I said to their sons in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.  (19)  I am Jehovah your God. Walk in My statutes, and keep My judgments, and do them,  (20)  and keep My sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am Jehovah your God.  (21)  But the sons rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, nor kept My judgments to do them; the judgments which, if a man do, he shall even live in them; they profaned My sabbaths and I said I would pour out My fury on them, to fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.  (22)  But I withdrew My hand and worked for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations, from whom I brought them out in their eyes.  (23)  I also lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations and scatter them through the lands,  (24)  because they had not done My judgments, but had despised My sabbaths and had profaned My sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.  (25)  Also I gave them statutes not good, and judgments by which they should not live.  (26)  And I defiled them in their own gifts, in that they caused all that open the womb to pass through the fire, that I might waste them, to the end that they might know that I am Jehovah.

With the preceding verses, we can easily see that the Mark of Yehovah is the keeping of his laws, Sabbaths and Holy Days. When we keep them they become a sign on our Hand and a Sign between our Eyes, or in our mind, which is also on our heart.

The hand signifies the way we live-our way of life, the way we work or conduct ourselves.

Between our eyes signifies the way we think and how we will treat others. It is our heart, our innermost being, our thoughts.

Those who will not keep the laws and Sabbaths of Yehovah, do not have the Mark of Yehovah. In its absence, it is the Mark of the Beast that is the sign on their hands and on their foreheads.

Read this in the following verses:

Revelation 7:3 MKJV
saying, Do not hurt the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Revelation 9:4 MKJV
And they were commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads.

Revelation 13:16 MKJV
And it causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or in their foreheads,

Revelation 14:1 MKJV
And I looked, and lo, the Lamb stood on Mount Zion. And with Him were a hundred and forty-four thousands, having His Father’s name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 22:4 MKJV
And they will see His face, and His name will be in their foreheads.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 MKJV
Now we beseech you, my brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,  (2)  that you should not be soon shaken in mind or troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word or letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ is at hand.  (3)  Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition,  (4)  who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.  (5)  Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you?  (6)  And now you know what holds back, for him to be revealed in his own time.  (7)  For the mystery of lawlessness is already working, only he is now holding back until it comes out of the midst.  (8)  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming,  (9)  whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  (10)  and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.  (11)  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,  (12)  so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.

Notice here in Thessalonians that the mystery of lawlessness (not keeping Yehovah’s Laws) is at work. The lawless one is Satan performing signs and lying wonders, unrighteous deceptions on those who would not love the truth of Yehovah and keep his laws. On them, it is Yehovah who will send a strong delusion so that they should continue to believe a lie.

What Lie? Satan is the father of all lies.

John 8:44 MKJV
You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

If you are not keeping the commandments then you are a liar, if you also say you obey Yehovah.

1 John 2:4 MKJV
He who says, I have known Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Now, let’s explore The Mark of The Beast – the Counterfeit Mark of Satan.
