conspiracy-theoryWhat is a Conspiracy and a Conspiracy Theory?

A Conspiracy is an agreement or plan, made between two or more people, to engage in an illegal act, to obtain an unlawful objective, or to deprive another person of his legal rights. A conspiracy may be engaged in to move a plan forward, each person involved aware of his or her part. It is not necessary for each person involved in a conspiracy to engage in – or even be aware of – each stage or act involved in gaining the objective.

A Conspiracy Theory is a hypothetical explanation for an event or situation that asserts the existence of a conspiracy by powerful and sinister groups, often political in motivation when other explanations are more probable.

A Conspiracy Theory is distinct from a Conspiracy as it refers to a hypothesized conspiracy with specific characteristics, including but not limited to opposition to the mainstream consensus among those who are qualified to evaluate its accuracy, such as workers in the field, scientists or historians.

Studies1“Conspiracy Theories and Paranoid Ideation: A Meta-Analysis” by Stuart A. Vyse and Michael J. Swami (2013): This meta-analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the research linking conspiracy theory belief to paranoid ideation. “The Psychology of Conspiracy Theories” by Karen Douglas, Robbie Sutton, and Karen Cichovicz (2016): This book explores the psychological factors that contribute to belief in conspiracy theories, including paranoia, cognitive biases, and social factors. show that belief in Conspiracy Theories is closely connected to paranoia (fear) or to a form of cognitive bias.

Belief in conspiracy theories is generally based, not on primary sources or substantial evidence, but rather in the faith of the believer or the one passing on the Conspiracy Theory.

Isaiah 8:12 MKJV
Do not say, A conspiracy! to everything of which this people says, A conspiracy! And do not fear their fear, nor be afraid.

The Bible generally speaks against superstition and following conspiracy theories, portraying it as a form of false belief or idolatry.

As Christians, we are called to put our trust in God alone, knowing he alone is sovereign. Conspiracy Theories, on the other hand, relies on fear, hearsay and human interpretations of world events, often leading to misguided beliefs and actions.

Is it not better for us to seek God’s guidance and wisdom rather than placing our faith in conspiracy theory-especially if dwelling on those mysteries brings paralysing fear or takes away your love for your fellow man?

There was a day…

I used to investigate things like the Illuminati, flat earth, chem-trails and Y2K. I felt so suckered into the Y2K theory taught at church. Being convinced it was all possible and feared the potential catastrophic impact it would have on some systems and the world, I bought gold and silver as the only ‘money’ that would be usable in an apocalyptic end of the digital world. What a fizzer. It was at that time the following verse struck me:

Matthew 24:24 NIV
For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

I had just experienced being deceived… and by false prophets!

Further, being reminded also of the time when we had a fuel shortage in Melbourne:

We were only allowed to fill up based on our number plates; odd numbered plates filled up on odd number dates and even plates on the alternating even dates. Many petrol stations had run out of fuel.

The petrol station across the road of Waverley Christian Fellowship (now Citylife Church) had every pump running with a queue of cars a kilometre up High Street Road, Wantirna South.

There was a $20 limit at the pump. The owners staffed the pumps and dispensed the $20 worth of fuel.

To speed up the process an attendant in overalls went down the queue and explained that he was pre-collecting the payment of $20 and gave them a ticket (like the split raffle tickets) to hand to the pump attendant once filled up.

Everyone was quite happy for this efficiency as each waited their turn in the long queue.

Everyone was sitting fat and happy, chatting, listening to the radio and life was wonderful as each car inched forward.

Then as the first person who had paid via this method arrived, was filled up with their $20 worth of fuel, and presented their ‘ticket’… disillusionment!

The illusion was exposed and it was revealed the ‘attendant’ walking the queue collecting $20 and ticketing was a conman ripping everyone off!

Everyone was deceived. This is what deception is all about… you just don’t know it until the illusion is exposed. So, even the elect may be deceived, if it were possible!

With that petrol rip-off story in mind and the Y2K fiasco passed, I earnestly prayed and asked God not to allow me to be deceived and to see through any deceptions early (like at the time asked for $20 and not at the pump).

My thought at the time was; “Take a year off from the conspiracy stuff. Study only the Bible.” Today, I add to that, “Keep the Shabbats and Feasts.” “Then see what you think of conspiracies after the 12 months”.

So, I did exactly that. I stopped looking for it. I stopped investigating and watching videos. I went cold turkey.
I’m not sure when the 12 months finished… I lost all interest in conspiracies… the Bible began to make more sense, pieces of the ‘Bible puzzle’ began to fall into place, deeper understanding increased, and a new type of wisdom came to me that I’ve not experienced before. I can’t really explain it, except to say that it feels like my ‘being/ruach2H7307 רוּחַ ruach (roo’-akh) breath, wind, spirit/soul’ grew up a little (or by some measure).

I can’t help but think about the parable of the seeds sown amongst the weeds and stones in Matthew 13. Don’t let them choke you out of Yehovah’s nourishing soil. Dig deep and find the goodness He has buried for you to find; like a beautiful pearl or hidden treasure.

From this experience, I’ve learnt it’s much better to eat from the Tree of Life than from the Tree of Knowledge.

But, but, but…

I now want to share what many often quote in defense of their conspiracy theories and implore you to read the whole part. You are about to be warned from Yehovah. It is the people who are telling us, “do not call what we say a conspiracy theory” or that it is okay to entertain Conspiracy Theories.

I say, better to Fear God and wait upon Him:

Isaiah 8:11-22 NIV
This is what the LORD says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people:
(12)  “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
(13)  The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
(14)  He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.
(15)  Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured.”
(16)  Bind up this testimony of warning and seal up God’s instruction among my disciples.
(17)  I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.
(18)  Here am I, and the children the LORD has given me. We are signs and symbols in Israel from the LORD Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.
(19)  When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
(20)  Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.
(21)  Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God.
(22)  Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.

Do you understand what Yehovah is telling you with this section of Isaiah? Most have no clue, so let me explain it in case you don’t either.

Warning #1: Fear of men

Before I explain, let me remind you of what Daniel warns us about the last days.

Daniel 8:25 MKJV
And also through his understanding, he shall cause deceit to succeed in his hand…

Also, the meaning of the word, Conspiracy, is H7195  קשׁר Transliteration: Qesher (keh’-sher) – Definition: 1. conspiracy, treason, (unlawful) alliance.  – Origin: from H7194 – TWOT entry: 2090a. – Strong’s: From H7194; an (unlawful) alliance: – confederacy, conspiracy, treason.

Let me reword it so it makes more sense in the context of what it is saying: “Walk not in the way of this people; call not their idols holy, nor fear you the object of their fear:” that is, gods of the idolaters; for to fear here signifies, to wit, the thing feared.

Many Conspiracy Theories feed paralysing fear and prey on ignorance and gullibility.

God has called us to something much better:

2 Timothy 1:7 MKJV
For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Today people fear the men in the back room, the NWO, vaccines, all government leaders, chem trails, GMOs, and the list can go on forever.

Conspiracy Theories place too much emphasis on worldly matters, often perceiving everything as a threat. It’s good for political intrigue to come to light, but that is not a necessary condition for the Christian life:

2 Timothy 3:12 NIV
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Is it right for corruption to be brought to justice? Yes.

Isaiah 1:17 NIV
learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.

Yet, it is still possible to live a godly life, even if justice never happens.

In our search for truth, this should always be in front of mind:

Romans 8:31 NIV
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Warning #2: Fear Yehovah

Yehovah is called, “The fear of Isaac,”

Genesis 31:42 MKJV
Unless the God of my fathers, the God of Abraham, and the Fear of Isaac had been with me, surely you would have sent me away now empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.

Genesis 31:53 MKJV
The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

We are told to look up to Jehovah as your Holy One; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread; and he shall be a sanctuary unto you and not some useless conspiracy teaching:

Isaiah 8:13-14 MKJV
Sanctify Jehovah of Hosts Himself, and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.
(14)  And He shall be a sanctuary for you, but for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling to both the houses of Israel, for a trap and for a snare to the people of Jerusalem.

Here there is a harmony, this confusing verse and the consistency running through the whole sentence explains the latter part naturally and answers the question about what it is talking about.

Isaiah 8:12 MKJV
Do not say, A conspiracy! to everything of which this people says, A conspiracy! And do not fear their fear, nor be afraid.

Isaiah is talking about the Idolatry that the people are taking part in, and it is full of fears. The superstitious fears of the Hindus, for example, are very numerous. They fear death, bad spirits generally, and hobgoblins of all descriptions. They fear also the cries of jackals, owls, crows, cats, asses, vultures, dogs, lizards, etc. They also dread different sights in the air, and are alarmed at various dreams.

Likewise, those who call themselves Christians fear the government taking their “Rights” and sovereignty. They fear chem trails poisoning them or vaccines doing the same. They fear the many various things George Soros is doing or that one might become one of the Nephilim or, worse, a lizard person. G5 or CERN will do something horrible to you and HAARP is destroying the world. Pizza gates abound in the world and minds of the conspirators, but they believe they are the only ones who understand the truth of the matter.

Observe that the word, conspiracy, is קשר kesher. The subset of kesher (drop the ר (resh)) we get קש yaqosh which means “to lure, entice, snare, lay a snare or lure, set a trap”.

Now observe that the difference between קשר kesher (conspiracy) and קדש qadosh (sacred, holy) chiefly in the transposition of the two last letters, for the letters ר  (resh) and ד  (daleth) are hardly distinguishable in some copies, printed as well as in Word; so that the mistake, in respect of the letters themselves, is a very easy and a very common one.

What is the difference between the Holy and the conspiracy? Is it as simple as the letters ר (resh) and ד (daleth)?

We read this next verse often, but it never seems to land on those who need to consider it; those who are given to study everything conspiratorial and not the word of Yehovah.

How many have fallen away? You cannot have a falling away, unless people were not exposed to the truth, first. Only, once they begin to learn the Torah can they, then, be seen to have fallen away from it.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 MKJV
Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition,
(4)  who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.
(5)  Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you?
(6)  And now you know what holds back, for him to be revealed in his own time.
(7)  For the mystery of lawlessness is already working, only he is now holding back until it comes out of the midst.
(8)  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming,
(9)  whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(10)  and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.
(11)  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,
(12)  so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.

Paul is saying in verse 10 what Daniel 8:25 said about deceit being prevalent in our times and how it would be rampant.

But, verse 11 is even more terrifying because now Yehovah will compound their deception by making it even harder for them to see their way out of it!!!

Passing on the Conspiracies

Some have said to me that they pass on the Conspiracy Theories because they may be true and people need to be aware. Well, yes, they maybe true, maybe not. But, note that they are just ‘theories’. In fact, many are made up just to cloud an issue by providing many plausible theories to cover up – that is the concept behind Conspiracy Theory.

I was told recently that the CIA invented “conspiracy theory” for exactly that purpose. Interestingly, the term “conspiracy theory” is believed to have originated in the late 19th century – way before the CIA. It was used to describe theories that claimed secret plots or conspiracies that were behind significant historical events. One notable early example is the conspiracy theory that a secret society, the Illuminati, was responsible for the French Revolution. This theory was popularized in the late 18th century and continued to circulate in various forms throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

Take “Darwin’s Theory”. Charles Darwin presented his ‘theory’. It was not fact. It was just a theory. Yet, today it’s espoused as fact and taught as fact… yet remains just a ‘theory’. Yet, note how it conflicts and obscures Creation from a Biblical perspective. This is what conspiracy theories ultimately do too.

So, is passing on conspiracy theories good to do?

Exposing the truth is good. Obsessing over rumour and hearsay and half-proven theories is harmful.

For me, I find this to be an excellent guideline when I’m sent, or come across, these Conspiracy Theories:

Ephesians 5:11-14 NIV
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
(12)  For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
(13)  But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
(14)  for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Verse 11 says to expose “the fruitless deeds of darkness.” But verse 12 says not to mention them.

How do we expose them? Not by conjecture, or worry, or fear, or never-ending deliberation, but by waiting on the words of verses 13 and 14: “Everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible”. Are you able to shine light on it? Speak only the truth and wait for God’s timing.

Endless speculation about conspiracy theories is, at best, a waste of time. At worst, the obsession induces paralysing fear as our attention is drawn away from Christ. Avoid the things God hasn’t revealed. Let Him work according to His timing. Rest in His plan, which can never be thwarted:

Job 42:2 NIV
“I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.

How does Yehovah view it all:

Psalms 2:2 NIV
The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One.

Psalms 2:4 NIV
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.

Passing on this fear is being conformed to this world, yet we are reminded:

Romans 12:2 NIV
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Are you obsessed with multiple conspiracy theories and thus have the spirit of fear around you and react in this way for instance, “what they are doing to usphilosophy, or, do you have the mind of Christ, a mind that cannot be manipulated? Do Conspiracy Theories hold us captive?

Colossians 2:8-10 NIV
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
(9)  For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
(10)  and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Do you know the source of these Conspiracy Theories? What are you passing on… and for whom?

1 Timothy 4:1 NIV
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

Are we still able to justify passing on Conspiracy Theories when the Bible says:

1 Timothy 4:7 NIV
Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

The Bible teaches that God is all-powerful and in control of everything that happens. People today are grasping at straws to try and make sense through “hidden knowledge” or rather Gnosticism, to have a sense of control or peace. And so, they are looking for philosophies and believing in things that are of earthly pagan origin rather than upon the things of God.

Still believe that passing them on is okay?

Ok, let us consider the following:

Ephesians 4:29 NIV
Do not let any unwholesomeG4550 talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

G4550   σαπρός  Sapros  (sap-ros’)   1. rotten, putrefied, 2. corrupted by one and no longer fit for use, worn out, 3. of poor quality, bad, unfit for use, worthless. – Origin: from G4595 – Strong’s: From G4595; rotten that is worthless (literally or morally): – bad corrupt. Compt. G4190 πονηρός  Poneros (pon-ay-ros’) 1. full of labours, annoyances, hardships, 1a. pressed and harassed by labours, 1b. bringing toils, annoyances, perils; of a time full of peril to Christian faith and steadfastness; causing pain and trouble, 2. bad, of a bad nature or condition, 2a. in a physical sense: diseased or blind, 2b. in an ethical sense: evil wicked, bad the word is used in the nominative case in Mat_6:13. This usually denotes a title in the Greek. Hence Christ is saying, deliver us from The Evil, and is probably referring to Satan. – Strong’s: From a derivative of G4192; hurtful that is evil (properly in effect or influence and thus differing from G2556 which refers rather to essential character as well as from G4550 which indicates degeneracy from original virtue); figuratively calamitous; also (passively) ill that is diseased; but especially (morally) culpable that is derelict vicious facinorous; neuter (singular) mischief malice or (plural) guilt; masculine (singular) the devil or (plural) sinners: – bad evil grievous harm lewd malicious wicked (-ness). See also G4191.

The King James Version uses the word, corrupt.

Ephesians 4:29 KJV
Let no corrupt G4550 communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

So you judge.

Your Facebook, TicToc, Telegram, email, whatever, or wherever you post these conspiracy theories to, it is “proceeding out of your mouth”. You give credence to each post.

Most people simply think you believe the info and that is the reason you sent it to them. Why else would you send it? Just think about what you think when you receive posts from ‘friends’.

As we all have seen, many of these theories are debunked or exposed. And if not, maybe the truth eventually comes out, if indeed there was any in the first place.

Ask yourself:

  • What benefit was there in spreading these theories?
  • Were you able to validate them before passing them on?
  • What is the source?
  • What is the motive behind the original author, if indeed you can identify them? Did the person, who sent it to you, do any checking?
  • What is their motive to send it on?
  • More importantly, what is your motive?
  • Are you able to do anything about it? If not, why waste time and why send it to someone else who can’t do anything about it either?

All that brings into question your reputation.

If you are found to be spreading myths, untruths, or what you share comes to naught, what does it do to your credibility when you go to share truth, like scripture?

Romans 1:21 MKJV
Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Vain in their imaginations” – I believe the principle from Romans 1:21-23 applies to many who post and share conspiracy theories.

Romans 1:22-23 MKJV
Professing to be wise, they became fools
(23)  and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

Based on what I have already written above, be careful because your testimony can become like that of a fool.

People will combine your testimony of scripture and conspiracy theories together.

Each time you speak the truth about the scripture, your conspiracy theories are recalled and added to it, which in turn takes the Glory of Yehovah and makes Him part of this corruptible foolishness.

And even worse, we have many teachers now who deliberately put them together into teachings or sermons.

Romans 1:24-25 MKJV
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.
(25)  For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Many correctly attribute this to the LGBT+ lifestyle, yet fail to see their own sins spoken of here. Yehovah gave them over to the lusts of their heart – like He will give you over to your conspiracy teachings. Being mixed together, they change the truth of Yehovah into a lie and now you worship at the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Thus being now experts of their pet conspiracy subjects or whatever other expert opinions they have developed.

Romans 1:26-28 MKJV
For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature.
(27)  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.
(28)  And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right,

Many are replacing the study of the Scriptures with learning more about each of these endless fairy tales believed to be truth and growing further and further away from Yehovah.

Romans 1:29-32 MKJV
being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers,
(30)  backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31)  undiscerning, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;
(32)  who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them.

It was Satan who whispered in Eve’s ear. It is Satan whispering that these conspiracies are true and causing one to have no faith in any government, any leader or any authority. To trust no man. And having bought into the narrative that the media is fake and that these fairy tales are true.

mixed-seedSpiritual Mixing of Seed

When the next curse comes how will Satan’s minions and those working for him, then spin those facts to fit with their false narratives (like climate change) that have been created? Even your Insurance Company declare floods, storms, unprecedented this or that, “Acts of God”.

Here is a question that rings louder now than it did when it was written.

Luke 18:8 MKJV
I say to you that He will avenge them speedily. Yet when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?

Now read again for the umpteenth time what Timothy has to say.

2 Timothy 3:1-9 MKJV
Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand.
(2)  For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(3)  without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,
(4)  traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
(5)  having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.
(6)  For of these are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women loaded with sins, led away with different kinds of lusts,
(7)  ever learning and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth.
(8)  But as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so these also resist the truth, men of corrupt mind, reprobate concerning the faith.
(9)  But they shall proceed no further. For their foolishness shall be plain to all, as theirs also became.

And, here in Timothy again;

2 Timothy 4:1-3 MKJV
Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom,
(2)  preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.
(3)  For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear.

Satan is deceiving the whole world and even some with these conspiracy teachings. Tickling ears. The truth of Yehovah is mixed with these teachings from Satan and the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Mixture of truth and lies.

A Spiritual Mixing of Seed!

Here is another verse from Daniel about these last days, warning each of us that lies or deceit will be prominent in our time.

Daniel 8:25 MKJV
And also through his understanding, he shall cause deceit to succeed in his hand. And he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many. He also shall stand up against the Ruler of rulers. But he shall be broken without a hand.

The world is going into labour pains and truth is being silenced by those spreading the mixed message in conspiracy teachings. Satan does not want people to know what he already knows. Time is up. So send them confusion and keep the people from hearing the truth. Keep the People from hearing the message of repentance which could save those who actually do repent. Preoccupy the people with rabbit holes for them to go down and when they come up send them down another one. Just keep them from reading their bibles.

Let them study and pursue the flat earth conspiracy. Let them study the stars. Let them study Sovereign state and be independent of the nation in which they live. Let them become experts about excrement and keep them from diving into their Bibles.

When Abraham met Melchizedek, why did he not accept the gift from Sodom?

Genesis 14:19-20 MKJV
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of Heaven and earth.
(20)  And blessed be the most high God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

But when Abraham replied to the King of Sodom he did not reply by saying the Most High God. Abraham said something different.

Genesis 14:22 MKJV
And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Jehovah, the most high God, the possessor of Heaven and earth,

Abraham stated exactly who this Most High God was because the Sodomites also believed in a most High God and His name was Baal. Abraham was making a clear and distinct difference. Abraham already knew who Melchizedek believed in. Abraham made sure the King of Sodom knew he was speaking about Yehovah and not Baal.

Everyone may think they are worshiping the true God, but not everyone is.

We have another example, 800 years after Abraham, when King David wins a battle and names the place after a false god.

2 Samuel 5:19-21 MKJV
And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up! For I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hand.
(20)  And David came to Baal-perazim, and David struck them there, and said, Jehovah has broken forth on my enemies before me, like the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place The Breaking of Baal.
(21)  And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

The English does not translate this as it is written in the Hebrew. David attacked the Philistines at Baal-Peratzim. Peratzim is likened to the flash flooding that comes suddenly after a rainstorm. David was saying that his victory was like a flash flood over the Philistines. Yehovah has paratz (broken forth), but instead of saying Yehovah, or El or Adonai, David says that Baal Peratzim. David credited the chief Canaanite god with the victory.

David was a man after Yehovah’s own heart. He was anointed by Samuel. He was filled with the Spirit of Yehovah. Yet, David still gave credit to the Baal of the Canaanites.

1 Samuel 19:13 MKJV
And Michal took an image and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at its head, and covered it with a cloth.

You must understand what exactly is going on here.

(ASV)  And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at the head thereof, and covered it with the clothes.

(CEV)  Michal put a statue in his bed. She put goat hair on its head and dressed it in some of David’s clothes.

(ERV)  Michal took the household god, put clothes on it, and put goats’ hair on its head. Then she put the statue in the bed.

(GNB)  Then she took the household idol, laid it on the bed, put a pillow made of goats’ hair at its head, and put a cover over it.

In David’s house was this idol. David’s wife Michal took the idol and laid it in the bed pretending it was David. Why did David have this idol in his house? Notice it was not just a statute of anyone, it was a Teraphiym. The exact same Teraphiym that Rachel stole from Laban in Genesis 31:34.

H8655 – Original: תּרפים – Transliteration: Teraphiym – Phonetic: ter-aw-feme’ – Definition: 1. idolatry, idols, image(s), teraphim, family idol a. a kind of idol used in household shrine or worship. – Strong’s: Plural perhaps from H7495; a healer; Teraphim (singular or plural) a family idol: – idols (-atry) images teraphim.

We also have David naming one of his sons after Baal too. Beeliada is Baal Yada and means Baal Knows.

1 Chronicles 14:7 MKJV
and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

We also have Saul naming one of his children after Baal also.

2 Samuel 2:10 MKJV
Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

Ishbosheth is translated as “Man of Shame” but when we read in 1 Chronicles what Saul really called him, the truth comes out.

1 Chronicles 8:33 MKJV
And Ner fathered Kish, and Kish fathered Saul. And Saul fathered Jonathan, and Malchishua and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

Esh Baal means “man of Baal”.

We are seeing a pattern here in the book of Samuel as he changes the name of Baal to Boshet, which means “shame”.

We also have this same thing in the story of Gideon after he destroyed the altar of Baal being changed in Samuel, from Yerubaal, which means “Let Baal Strive” to Yerubeshet which means “Let Shame Strive”.

What is going on here?

What are these greats of the Bible doing? Are they worshiping Baal or Yehovah?

What they did was much more subtle and far more insidious.

They were mixing the true worship of Yehovah with the false worship of Canaanite gods.
No different when one mixes the true worship of Yehovah with the false teaching of conspiracy theories.

Some Christian churches are also teaching about the various conspiracy theories out there, believing they are talking about biblical things. They are not. There is no difference to those mentioned in Scripture above.

Leviticus 19:19 MKJV
You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with different kinds. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed. And you shall not allow clothing mixed of linen and wool to come on you.

David, Saul, Gideon and some today are engaging in the spiritual mixing of seed. David Saul and Gideon were calling Yehovah, Baal and thinking it was equal. Some today think they are being watchmen on the wall by spreading the conspiracies about everything from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Even now, many will still not get it.

700 years after David, the Israelites were still mixing Yehovah with Baal.

Hosea 2:16 MKJV
And it shall be at that day, says Jehovah, you shall call Me, My Husband, and shall no more call Me, My Baal.

Yehovah tells us, in the next verse, that this will, one day, be corrected.

Hosea 2:17 MKJV
For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no more be remembered by their name.

Today many are mixing scripture with the conspiracy theories teachings of the day, even if not directly but by association.

What is created is an unholy hybrid religion, which fools worship and cannot stay away from.

What good is it?

Remember,

Ephesians 4:29 KJV
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Is what you are sharing truth or corrupt? Are you leading people away from truth?

But, more so, does it “build up” or “edify” the person you are passing information on to?

Final Consideration

Paul had this to say,

Titus 3:8-11 NIV
This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
(9)  But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.
(10)  Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.
(11)  You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Let’s devote ourselves to doing what is good.

Proverbs 14:15 MKJV
The simple believes every word, but the wise man watches his step.

This verse highlights the importance of critical thinking and discernment. It encourages us to think wisely and carefully consider our actions, rather than blindly following what others say or believe.

Many Christians may dismiss what I am saying, claiming to be big enough and mature enough to entertain both the Conspiracy Theories and Scripture.

Do not be fooled. You are not mature nor strong enough to resist Yehovah if He decides to send more delusion upon you.

If you have entertained Conspiracy Theories, repent and ask Yehovah to give you eyes to see the difference and to run back to His Word, and it alone.

We are in the End Times and are almost at the finish line and I don’t like to watch believers and friend fall away.

2 Chronicles 17:3 MKJV
And Jehovah was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the first ways of his father David and did not seek the Baals.

Seek Yehovah, not Conspiracy Theories (Baals), and Yehovah will be with you.

Let’s now let’s return to: A Menu of Important Things.
