It’s Christmas Eve. The anticipation of Christmas Day and all that it brings is upon us.
Singing Carols, the abundance of foooood, sweets, popping bon bons, cherries, roast meats, roast veggies, ham, prawns, pudding & custard, gingerbread house, dad jokes, zzz, more food, delighted kids, big & little, around a well dressed tree, ripping open the meticulously wrapped presents…
…as we celebrate the delivery of the greatest gift of all, wrapped in a Manger, God’s own Son, Jesus.
While Jesus was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God. Luke 24:51-53
It is the same today, we do not worship, praise or pray to a baby or to a man nailed to a cross.
We worship, praise and pray to the risen, triumphant and victorious Saviour and King who is seated at the right hand of God in heavenly realms.
Thank you Lord God for your precious gift.
What Hope, what Love, what Joy!
