Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson says outed Stig Ben Collins has been “sacked” from the popular motoring show. The Formula 3 driver was revealed as the mystery white-suited driver after the BBC failed to stop him publishing his memoirs last week.

It was such a shock“, Clarkson told little-known English community news service WitneyTV. “It was horrible actually because I liked him and he came around to my house and had drinks, and all the time he was writing a book, so I feel a bit hurt.

Gossips betray a confidence, but the trustworthy keep a secret.
Proverbs 11:13

TopGear Jeremy ClarksonClarkson hinted The Stig character may be dumped from the new BBC series, due to air later this year. Collins took over the role in 2003 after a previous, black-clad Stig also revealed his identity in a book.

Betrayal is most damaging. It isn’t just the immediate people involved that get hurt… it affects many more, just like ripples in a pond radiate outwards after a rock is thrown into the middle of the still water.

The Bible has a great example of this when Judas betrayed Jesus. Even to this day, we name the betrayers, “Judas!

Interestingly, most Judas’ eventually realise what they have done and remorse fills them like a sickening disease:

When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders.
Matthew 27:3

So what do you do if you have been the betrayer?

You could seek forgiveness and make restitution … that is a good start. You will need to work hard to earn back any trust, reputation or respect from those you betrayed. Regardless of your success in doing all that, there is only one Judge to finally satisfy, and from him you will find forgiveness…

“We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,   but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.  He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.   He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.   All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Acts 10:39-43

And His name is, Jesus.  He offers you, forgiveness. He is your ultimate salvation!

And if you are the one betrayed?

Trust me, we have many, many thousands of people queuing up to be whatever it is that we create“, Clarkson said. “I’ve spent the last three weeks doing nothing but trying to figure out what we will do instead.” He added, “Top Gear is damaged but not out!

Can you can hear the hurt and bitterness in those words from Clarkson?

Forgiveness is the only solution to avoid bitterness eating you up and consuming you.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31-32

Easier said than done. I know… and agree. But the key to all that, resides in the words, “just as in Christ God forgave you.” This comes through salvation and Jesus Christ being Lord in your Life.

And finally, what about TopGear?

We can only hope that Ben Collins and Jeremy Clarkson survive this… and the brilliant show, TopGear, continues with it’s winning formula.

  1. It is too bad, as I liked the Stig character. At this point I can see Jeromy’s feelings, however we have not heard from Ben. Most of the world knew he was one of the top picks as who the Stig really was and it was no surprise to very many people at this point. He is a very good driver and I like someone of his caliber testing the cars. It makes the times believable. I love the show and sometimes I would like to give ol’ Jeromy a kick in the pants, but that’s something most of us feel at times. I did not much care for the American Top Gear show. I would like to see the boys test our cars and put them into perspective against the rest of the worlds cars. The truth is, most of the world uses smaller inexpensive cars to get around in and Top Gear in the UK would make one think that all of the people in Europe drive nothing but 100,000 pound Mercedes, Ferrari’s, Audi’s, BMW’s and other costly sports sedans. We in America have our own type of cars and our idea of a car is somewhere in the middle I think. We like larger most powerful cars and because of our inexpensive fuel costs over the lst few decades we were able to have this kind of car. I am glad we have finally got off our behinds and used the technology available to design and build better cars. One of the things I am very proud of is the General Motors small block engines used in so very many of the worlds high performance cars. That little motor has always been one of my favorites. You can buy one of the new LS3’s in the box from GM for 6000 dollars and that little small block makes 440 to 600 horsepower all day long and lasts for several hundred thousand miles under normal use when properly maintained. There are several of the LS engines from 400hp to 700hp starting from 5000 dollars. That is a super bargain. Try to get a crate engine for any of the German manufactures for any where near that price. They are not any better as far as I am concerned. I know I would and many would stand with me on that statement. I love the German cars and they are build quite well, however they are way over priced. I think when certain car builders use other peoples engines and then talk bad about the american car builders, well it just goes to show one how poorly some people can behave when it comes to telling the truth about the American cars at this point. I have heard Jeromy moan about American car builders quality while in the same sentence praise Holden for their wonderful V8 engine and chassis. Go figure? Oh well, I would like to see more of out cars and why things are the way they are aired. I am interested in what Detroit is building again and I am waiting to see what car I will choose next time. Most liely it will be a GM product. I want one of the new 500hp small blocks to make the hair on my neck stand up once again, however I want it to handle and stop with the best of them. I got off topic a bit, but I do like the show Top Gear and as far as I am concerned about the Stig they can hire another Stig and move on. Just call him the non Judas Stig and grin. Since he was always unknown the identity is unimportant, so lets move on and grab another good test driver. Cheers!!!!!!
