A new year arrives. We reflect upon that which has passed. We rejoice in our victories but yearn to change our failings. It’s a time when we tend to make new year resolutions but miss many in our lifestyle at the turn of next year. However…

Change must become a lifestyle and Failure remain as an event.

Have you ever watched the tide come in? Each wave creeps methodically up the beach and washes clean the sand castles, footsteps and writings that scarred it in the previous hours before. And when the tide withdraws the beach is once more restored.

How beautiful it is to gaze upon.

The scarred beach is but an event in time lost to the lifestyle of the tide.

He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation.'”
Luke 3:3-6

Jesus Christ, the salvation of men, came and washed our lives and they are cleansed and restored once more.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord…
Acts 3:19

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

Each day we scar and trample over our clean lives, but as we seek and ask for forgiveness, our lives are once again washed and restored anew.

Now that is, Good tidings!
