One time when I traveled into the city by train, I recall the impact this gorgeous woman had upon those on the train as it pulled into the station.
As we pulled in, there stood in the soft light of the morning sun this stunning woman dressed sharply in a suit, high heels and with just the right amount of make-up. Every detail was just perfect. It was like we were witnessing firsthand a world class model, a magazine cover girl.
Every head turned towards her. She was simply breath-taking.
Women took a second look. Men were captivated.
And then she proceeded to light up a cigarette!
SNAP!
There was an audible groan pass through the carriage… sighs…and even a few shoulders dropped in utter disappointment. The delightful scene was truly shattered as she sucked on that cigarette.
Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.
Proverbs 11:22
I don’t think that woman had any idea just how ugly she became at the flick of a lighter.
Sigh…what a waste.
Looks don’t make the person, but it sure introduces them.
Discretion demonstrates the quality of being discreet, especially with reference to one’s own actions or speech; prudence or decorum.
How we dress, present ourselves and conduct ourselves, sends a message, rightly or wrongly.
What message do you send? What message do you desire to send?
