Torvald Bjorn Vander Reyden

I’m a Grandpa! I’m a Grandpa! …Again!
Think I’m ecstatic? I sure am.

And that is because my daughter, Jessica, and my wonderful son-in-law, Ethan, have given Judith and I, another Grandson.

Welcome to…

Torvald Bjorn Vander Reyden

Torvald Bjorn Vander Reyden

Arrived, like a swift thunderous storm and premature at 6 weeks earlier than expected, on January 23rd, 2018 at 10:28pm. Weighing in at 5lb 8oz (2.5kg) and already 47cm from head to all 10 toes. Being premature and with breathing complications, he was transferred between hospitals, including the Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital, to assist with his survival. A stressful and complicated beginning, but a beautiful and delightful result. Mum & Dad were a little stressed with big brother, Arkyn, not quite sure about it all and concerned for his mum. After a several tumultuous weeks, and amazing care from hospital staff and the love of all concerned, Torvald is getting on with his Life Journey as a healthy baby.

Torvald Bjorn are ancient Norse names and means “God of Thunder’s Ruler” and “Bear” respectively.  He arrived like thunder and is as tough, albeit cuddly, as a bear. He is indeed our tenacious “Thunder Bear”!

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Proverbs 17:6

A crown. I can hardly begin to describe the overflow of joy, delight, exhilaration, wonderment and the gratefulness to the Lord who has chosen to bless Ethan and Jessica with another Grandson.

To see one’s children’s children is indeed held deep within the heart and is manifested with a knowing, proud smile only known to that of a Grand Parent. Ha! I’m a Grandpa! …Again!
