As one year slips into history and the new year looms on the horizon, life moves towards Eternity.

Teach us to number our days, that we might have wise hearts.
– Psalm 90:12

At the stroke of midnight of this particular new year, I will be 57 years, 8 months, 23 days or 3012 weeks and 3 days, or 21,087 days, 506,088 hours, or 30,365,280 minutes, or 1,821,916,800 seconds old!

As I pondered my heartbeats and the wonderful gift of LIFE, I realise how fleeting and yet precious it is.

The news constantly reminds us as we see heroes and celebrities die. We realise our own mortality as we attend funerals of family or friends.

Knowing not when, but that we all are going to die, is a key on how to live.

May we live every day as if it be our last.

And when we do breathe our last, may we have no regrets in this life. The most important of which is the decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We will all stand before the Judgement Seat of God and depending on that one decision, only possible while alive here on Earth, your destination of Hell or Eternity in Heaven is determined.

Let us have wise hearts and make our LIFE count.

May this new year be a blessing to you and to those around you as you live out your life under the Lordship of Jesus.
