We all seek a full life. A life where we find the ‘love of our life’. A life where we have enough to meet our needs and with plenty remaining to give to others in need — a definition of prosperity. A life where we are so good at what we do that we are recognised as being at the top of our field, the top of our game, the best…and we are honoured for it.

Who would not desire such a life?

He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honour.
Proverbs 21:21

The key is in righteousness and love.

Love is a condition of the heart, our very inner being.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Webster (Dictionary) had this to say about “Righteousness”.

Purity of heart and rectitude of life; conformity of heart and life to the divine law. Righteousness, as used in Scripture and theology, in which it is chiefly used, is nearly equivalent to holiness, comprehending holy principles and affections of heart, and conformity of life to the divine law. It includes all we call justice, honesty and virtue, with holy affections; in short, it is true religion.

Righteousness is not something we can ‘do’, it is something we ‘become’. And we can’t do it by ourselves.

“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
Jeremiah 23:5,6

The righteous Branch, a King is the Lord Jesus Christ. Only He is the One who is righteous. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and through obedience to Him are we made righteous.

Do you still desire to find life, prosperity and honour?

He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honour.
Proverbs 21:21

The pursuit begins through understanding what it means to have an intimate relationship with God.

Through that intimacy with God you are enabled to pursue righteousness and love. And you will find life, prosperity and honour.
